Scroll Bar Disappearing

I don't like that there's not a permanent scroll bar in the new Safari. Can I change a setting to get one? If so, how can I do that? It's really annoying that it doesn't want to show up on some websites. I like the other way better. Maybe it's an option on the Macbook Pro??

The suggestion people made to change this in general preferences does not work.

I change it there, close Safari and open it and there is no scroll bar.

I go back to general preferences and it has been changed back.

What kind of arrogant programmers is Apple hiring these days?

Talk about insensitive to the customers needs.

Also this new OS is slow. Reminds me of MicroSoft Windows. Did someone at Apple decide to design in poor quality in order to give MicroSoft a chance to gain market share?

Sad, really sad.

This does not work. Something in the OS or Safari changes it back and I can never get Safari to open and just have the scroll bar displayed so I am forced to use the arrows before I can get the scroll bar to display.

Linc:

Sorry, but there is no option in Safari V 6.02 to set scroll bars to "always" in general preferences or anywhere else. My scroll bar was AWOL when I upgraded my MB Pro to 10.7.5 and Safari 6.02. Unexpectedly it came back but I have no idea why. I quit using Safari for about 2 weeks and went to Firefox because it was so frustrating always having to fuss around trying to scroll with the keypad or using the double finger drag/slide.

Sometimes it seems these upgrades get too clever by half!

Any other ideas?

John
