Help using dictation
I just installed mountain lion and my dictation isn't working. How does it work I press fn twice, speak, and press it twice more and it does nothing.
MacBook Pro, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.1)
i dont know what DNS entries are
Apple Event: May 7th at 7 am PT

Open System Preferences > Network > Advanced > DNS
ok so what i found in another discussion up above that i posted didnt work i added both DNS codes and restarted computer and still isnt working. rechecked settings and dictation is still on and with internal mic with the tap fn twice and english
Open System Preferences > Users and Groups and create an user. Check if you can run Dictation
i dont have any parental controls set if thats what your asking and for some more info i am an admin
Create a second user and see if Dictation runs with it
switched users and dictation still isnt working.
Any more help would be great...
Unfortunately, I've run out of ideas; my only suggestion is to make an appointment at your nearest Genius Bar or, if still covered by warranty, call Apple tech support. If you do, make sure to have a list of all the things you've tried already.

i speak english, its no trouble for me, but my native language is Spanish, so, I just bought a macbook pro, and while I was buying it (by mistake) I selected English as language, now, dictation does not come on Spanish, is there any way I can switch dictation to Spanish? a software I can download so I can have Spanish Distator?

In system preferences, under dictation, under the drop down menu, it says "language" you can click this and set the option for Spanish. This will set dictation to Spanish.
As for you, 280z-77, I would recommend saying something extremely short and simple in a loud, clear voice, maybe "hello" and make sure yuk say it slowly. If you get the same shake then no text result, it means dictation is unable to understand you or it cannot communicate with the dictation server.
