why has mac mail stopped displaying images in emails?

upgraded to ML when it came out, all fine, but 2 weeks ago, mail suddenly stopped displaying any images in my emails.


how do i get them back???

This fixed it for me as well. I really do not like the fact that regardless of the user not alterng their settings that Apple constantly muck up settings by imposing changes with no regard or respect for their customers. Apple never let anyone know that this will happen or give proper instructions about how to undo the many problems that they create.

Hi - I had the same problem on OS X YOSEMITE - Mail with just one (private server) IMAP mail account. This account holds approx. 8.000 mails ...


The command line did not solve the problem immediately. But …


- I deleted the account (which is no problem, as long as it is IMAP!)

- I deleted preferences in Library/Mail/V2/[MyMailAccount] - actually I moved that to desktop to have a backup

- I rebooted

- than ran the command "defaults write com.apple.mail DisableInlineAttachmentViewing -bool NO"


The problem disappeared for now.
