why has mac mail stopped displaying images in emails?

I’m not 100% sure but I think it’s designed to save using download data unnecessarily? If you want the pictures, just click download all content, but if you’re on a limited plan or using a mobile device I think it saves you money? I may be way off, but it seems like a friendly idea 🙂

The images on your computer that you are enclosing have changed location or been deleted: find them and replace.

thank you this worked for me .. the top one was checked i unchecked that one.. now i hope everything works out. i am tired of fixing things because of an update. yesterday was the messaging today email pictures... hope that is it. This is why i hate to update.. thank again 🙂

I have the same issue but there's a weird work-around -- the images will display in the trash. Also, if the message is moved to the trash, and opened there, and then moved back to the inbox, the images will continue to display normally in the inbox.

I do not see this. Mail is still displaying the images!

What is it showing instead?

In Safari's Preferences > General, do you have "Open Safe Files After Downloading" checked?

I also have the same problem and it is driving me crazy. Can anyone help?
