Can't find driver for an Epson RX620 with OS 9.1?

The Epson Stylus Photo RX620 All-in-one offers compatibility with OS 9 and later, but we can't find a printer driver that works with OS 9.1, only 9.2. (Scanning/photocopying not a problem). Is there a way round this?

What model Mac are you using? If it's a G3 or newer, you can update OS 9.1 to 9.2.1 and then 9.2.2. Third-party download links for these updates have been listed in other Topics posted in this Forum. You may have to look back through 2-3 pages, but you should find ones with "OS 9 Updates" in the subject line. If you're running a pre-G3 Power Mac, check out "OS 9 Helper." It provides a patch for running the 9.2.1/9.2.2 updates on those unsupported Macs.

Unfortunately, the link that I provided for "OS 9 Helper" isn't good anymore. Although the web site is was <http://www.os9forever.com/>, few things are forever when it comes to outdated/obsolete technology. The decline in demand for the product may explain this. If interested, Other World Computing has a page describing the software patch, but the download link is dead. Hopefully, you've got a G3 or newer and don't need it.
