Pick the 🔍 spotlight icon and type "midi" and choose the "Audio Midi Setup" app.
Inside the app click âž• (plus) in the bottom right corner and pick "Create Multi Output Device".
In then on the right select all the devices you want to output to
Now open the System Preferences and choose Sound.
On the "Output" tab select the Multi-Output Device

I have also been trying to get iTunes on my Mac to play both AppleTV and Bluetooth simultaneously without success. It looks like Apple does not want us to do this.
There is an easy solution however. I have been using Airfoil for some time and it provides complete flexibility regarding inputs (itunes, spotify, VOX flac player, etc) and outputs (apple TV, computer, BT speakers etc). The only downside is that you have to stomp up a once-only licence fee of $29 - but for me it is money well spent - Oh and they do a free test download.
Hello, I saw the Airfoil app that sync Airplay and Bluetooth speakers but the problem it stream music from a Mac, not from IPhone or IPad. Do you know if there is a solution like Airfoil who stream from iOS device Or any other advice.
thank's
I have been unsucesful with this combination, at least playing from iOS devices (which I know doesn't match your original question) but i thought maybe you meant using the music app on an iPhone or iPad to play music stored on the device or using remote on an iOS device to play an itunes library. Even when the bluetooth device is selected in the wireless conncetions, it only plays to the airplay device in my experience, I asked a similar question here https://discussions.apple.com/thread/4647291
On my Mac I went to audio and selected a bluetooth speaker for the computer's audio output. Then in iTunes I chose multiple speakers and clicked on the computer (output to bluetooth device) and airplay speakers and it worked. You can only do that with one bluetooth device, but you can choose multiple airplay.
The only problem I thought I detected was that either the bluetooth was very slightly ahead or visa versa. When I had the computer on the connected speakers I didn't hear that. Since bluetooth and airplay work differently it might not be possible to sync them perfectly? I'm not a sound expert nor wireless expert--maybe someone knows more on that end.
You can do it but there is a delay from the bluetooth speaker. You'll need an iphone or ipad using the Apple app "Control", airplay setup, bluetooth speaker, and an Apple laptop or desktop.
I used my laptop to connect to my bluetooth speaker so that sound streams to my bluetooth device. Then, on my iphone I opened Control and connect the music to my airplay and my laptop at the same time. The music goes to your airplay speaker, and then to my laptop which then blue tooths it to my speaker. But, as I said the bluetooth takes an extra step to stream it and so the music is not in sync. Its like a second and a half delay....
Thank you, honeybeebuzz. This works perfectly, except for the slight bluetooth delay. Could live with it in a noisy, party-like environment or at low volume, as long as the speakers are in different rooms (mine are). Just gets weird when you're standing halfway between the two sets of speakers.
This couldn't have been easier. Now I can stream to my Apple Devices as well as my Amazon Echo. Thank you! 🙂
