System freezes after update to 10.8.1

Since i updated from 10.8 to 10.8.1 the systems freezes almost in every session. I've never had a problem like that before. Any ideas?

Hi everyone! Here's an update:

I have been working a couple of days now by using 10.8.1 and the freezing problem seems to be gone. I don't know why. Just Safari crashed sometimes, but no freezing. My changes where: uninstall "Growl" and "His" and I disabled "Living Earth". I updated to 10.8.2 about a week ago and don't have any problems till now.

What about you guys?

Just thought I'd add my 2 cents. I was getting lots of freezes and spinning beach balls in Safari, system preferences and Finder. I did a speed test of my ssd OS and it showed a really slow speed (in the tens of kb/s).

I had a cheapo USB stick attached which had contained some photos I'd erased (by disk utility format) and should have been empty. When I removed this the speed went up to 30-40Mb/s. After updating the firmware, I'm a bit over 100Mb/s.

Still getting the occasional freeze on safari, but I think that USB stick was the primary culprit in my case.

System freezes after update to 10.8.1
