1st generation Ipod (2001 /5GB) How to charge??

I dont´t know how to charge my Ipod. Can someone help my or tell me where I can buy the right cable?

You need a FireWire 400 (6-pin) connection, using a FireWire cable. This can be to a FireWire port on a computer, or to the white square FireWire power adapter (that plugs into a power outlet), which came with those iPods.


There is no way to adapt a USB port for FireWire. If you have a recent Mac that has a FireWire 800 (9-pin) port, you can adapt it to FireWire 400 (6-pin) using an adapter or a cable.
