If the problem is ethernet related, why does it happen on a MacBook Air, which doesn't have an ethernet port? I can't add one in my system.
Thanks Mark. This is what worked for me as well.
I have tried many of above solutions, but it's not work for me, i try to close all other app using internet and it's works. Keep your eye on Skype or similar app using port 80 & 443.
Thank you so much. After trying different solutions with no avail, you're finally worked. Big props to you buddy!
I turned off Wi-Fi. I was using en0 and en1 on my laptop. That fixed it for me.
thankyou, fixed it immediately using your solution!
Simple Solution:
While in App Store, go to "Store" at the menu bar. Click "Sign out". Sign in as your account then downloads should work. I had this same problem and found this solution. Hopefully this helps!
My app store had that problem as well, "Unknown Error" kept coming up. I actually went to 'Store' and signed out of the previous account, and voila, it worked!!! Hopefully that works for anyone else?
Hi Gus,
Had same problem on my Mac.
Here is what fixed my problem:
1. Changed to another country (I am in Israel, and I changed to the USA store).
2. Clicked "Get" on the app I wanted.
3. Got a message stating that my Apple ID cannot be used in the USA store, and that I would be redirected to my store.
4. After I got redirected, searched for the app again, and clicked "Get".
5. App installed fine. Later apps (I tried before and failed) are now installing fine!
Hope this helps!
Just sign out then sign in with your other account but not when its asking you your apple id to download an app.
Dude, thank you so much - after trying EVERYTHING except this simple fix, it worked! #lifesaver
go to store(top right) sign out ... don't sign in again ... try downloading an item.. a sign in pop up will appear.. sign in... and that worked for me..!!
This saved me a lot of misery, thanks. Apple should probably quit hiring robots, clearly the App Store rep further up the thread had no idea what we're talking about: instructions for signing into the store is just insulting. Much as I love my six year old MBP (this problem was with an iMac) I am pretty much done with Apple. If there is truly a ****, then Steve Jobs is trying to run an eternal stream of iPads through Configurator 2 right now!
You are the man!!!! 😎
In Mountain Lion, I just used ONYX v2.74 and did a fullMaintenance Cleaning > SYSTEM + USER + INTERNET + FONTS + LOGS.
Restart the Mac.
Log back into App Store.
All Updates now work great.
