why does match get stuck on sending information to apple?

Ever since last night on 8/30/12, when I select Match on my PC, I get an error after waiting a few minutes for Match to attempt to send information to Apple. Not sure if anyone has this problem or what the resolution would be. I get this message:

"We could not complete your iTunes Store request. The network connection was reset. Make sure your network connection is active and try again."

Up til yesterday, the Match service loaded fairly quick and was useful to load my music on.

This is how i got it working.

I went to system pref, then icloud. Signed out of everying.

Unchecked all icloud options.

Clicked sign out.

Closed system pref

I then went into itunes and Deauthorized my computer and logged out of itunes account.

Closed itunes.

I then loogged back into icloud via system pref, added all items that i had before.

I then opened Itunes

I then authorized my computer and logged back into my account.

I then tuned on Genius, had to type password and agree to term and conditions.

I then turned on Itunes Match and added my wife's macbook.

Did the same steps for my iMac and they both work now.

My word this was a LOT of work to do.

Well it worked once, but i tried to manually updates Itunes Match and it failed.

Tried this one. Does exactly as described. After signing in into Match it immediatelly starts to scan my library. I did not have much time to check off iCloud Download and iCloud Status, but I managed it to get it done before results sent to Apple. I then I waited to let iTunes finish the process. It failed just like earlier today. So this procedure didn't help me at all.

I still think there is something wrong at Apple not on my system. So all attempts here seem to be more than a possible workaround than a solution.

I have done the following steps in 2 computers and the problem was solved.

Please, follow step by step.

1. With Itunes Match activated, go to Music View in Itunes. Disable ICloud Download and Status columns.

2. Go to 'Store', Deactivate iTunes Match.

3. Go to Store, Remove authorization from computer.

4. Go to Store, disconnect itunes account.

5. Restart iTunes.

6. Login to your iTunes account.

7. Activate iTunes Match.

This procedure worked for me in my 2 PCs.

All steps must be followed!

After following your procedure iTunes

1. started to scan my library

2. sent information to Apple

3. waited for Apple sending information back

4. breaked up with no message

5. started at 1

After 3 loops it came one step further and started uploading 1 song after receiving information from Apple. After 20sec it breaked up, started at 1

Looping.

I deleted this one song that has been tried to be uploaded and started over at step 1.

This it has started updating covers for 14 songs, was able to accomplish 2, then break, restart at step 1.

Christ!

Thanks anyways and great at worked out for you

Update: Your procedure actually has cured my todays problem connecting to Apple (the TS4054 error).

I now know there is another problem I have since I've updated to Mountain Lion. Every 60 secs iTunes is starting to refresh iTunes Match. And that is the reson why your procedure can not run through here.

After 8 attempts iTunes finally managed to update my library with 8 new songs. Until this issue with Mountain Lion has been fixed I only can add 2 songs or so to my library. Adding more songs takes more than 60 secs and then boom!

That is just a temporary solution. But how many times you want to repeat that process to perform matching ? For my case, the matching only works once, and I need to repeat the process to make it work again. Apple really, really need to fix that. To be fair though, that malfunction might be due to many users updating to itunes 11, performing match concurrently. iTunes match service doesn't see to scale well with more users.
