I tried almost about everything for hours, searching and searching for where the adware was located on my hard drive. I deleted my cookies and deleted every application that looked suspicious with no luck. I finally was told to look into the MACINTOSH HD >> LIBRARY >> APPLICATION SUPPORT >> And then look for anything that deals with Mackeeper or ZeoBit. My files were hiding in a folder named Vsearch Agent. I deleted the files, restarted my computer and emptied my trash. And finally it was all over. No more annoying pop ups or ads from Zeobit/Mackeeper. I hope this helps.

Hey Nate2018,

This may be a ridiculous question, but when you say you were told to look into the MACINTOSH HD>> LIBRARY >> APP SUPPORT -- is that the Hard Drive? Because I can't find "application support" on my Hard Drive. I have a MacBook Air. I should say that the Mackeeper apps just started to pop up today ... silly me tried to stream a soccer match and downloaded (by accident) some extension which I have since deleted, but the Mackeeper pops up after EVERY click.

THANKS!

Andrew.

I don't whether anyone has resolved this yet. But this is how I did it last with the help of apple.

Click on your Finder > Then click on the top tab 'Go' > Then go on 'go to folder' > Then type /Library > Then go on the Caches folder > Delete anything that has V.search > Then Go on Extensions Folder find the V.search again and delete it (put in trash) > Repeat these steps in the folder(s) Frameworks, Preferences, LaunchAgents and LaunchDaemons.

After that go back on the Go tab > Then go on 'go to folder' again > This time type /System/Library > Then go on the following folders > Caches, Frameworks, LaunchAgents and LaunchDaemons and delete the V.search if you find it.

After this restart your mac, then once you are back on your home screen, go on your trash then empty it out.

*** ONLY DELETE V.SEARCH

THIS HOPEFULLY SHOULD WORK.

Hey you have probably worked this out but I'm replying in case anyone else has this problem as I recently did. You don't need to download anything. Anyone that tells you you need to or to write some sort of code is incorrect. Its simple go into your applications folder and drag any suss apps into the trash and then empty the trash. The ones I deleted were called My shopmate and Software Updater. Once I did this all the pop ups were gone! Also just check in your preferences and extensions in safari you don't have any weird extensions there. It's easy Im just a complete novice so it took me a while to work it out.
