Exporting protected m4v to DVD (to be read on home TV)

Hi,

I bought a DVD on Apple Store, which seems to be protected. I have no way to build a DVD so we can watch the DVD altogather (and no, watching it on the Mac screen is not an option).

There is something wrong there, as I got no warning (but my money was happily accepted). Do you know a (free) way to convert these protected films to a "standard" DVD?

Regards,

Bruno.

As it is a Family Video (SOS Fantomes in French / Glost Busters), I surely did not buy it for *me*. It was mostly for family. That is why playing on computer only does not do anything it was supposed to do: To allow us to spend good time *together*...

If you have a family, I am sure you understand what I mean.

Well, this is not an option too. First buying something for the only and last video I will get there,

and second because we have some Linux boxes for kids (I did not insist on this at first, as it is

really the first time a video cannot be watched *together* and later *on will*). For instance if we

want to watch different videos (parents vs childs), or childs only, while my computer is locked.

Having around 500 DVD at home, all working everywhere, I cannot believe *one* shop (Apple)

could pretend to compete with Amazon, by linking video to one hardware only.

I did buy once only and failed to show the video to children... This is the *only* video which does

not play on my TV, by the way: Protected Japanese/French/UK all play fine... Apple Zone is

a new one :-(

Bruno.
