What is the list of 5G WiFi Channels, that MBA/iPhone/iPad supports?

I got a new dual band router at home, which provides 2.4GHz and additional 5GHz WiFi signals. But neither my macbook air(type A1369) nor iphone 4s couldn find the 5G SSID, while my wireless adapter could.

I did some investigation then, realize I could set 5G WiFi to different channels ( 36, 44, 149, 157 ). I tested it on my wireless router, and found out only if it was set on 149/157, my macbook was able to find and connected to the access point. ( The default was 36, therefore it didn't work beforehad. )

For channels, refer to: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_WLAN_channels

My question is, what is the list of 5G WiFi Channels, that MBA/iPhone/iPad supports? I searched but didn't find much information about this. I would be disappointed, if Apple products don't support 5GHz 36/44 channel, since those are the only channels available in Aisan countries.

Ps, does country/language/timezone settings have effect on this?

Thanks

MacBook Air, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.1)

iphone doesn't do 5Ghz at all. The 4s model wil do 802.11N but it's over the 2.4Ghz band. I suspect iPads use only 2.4 as well.

The MBA does the channels listed in Retired Engineers instructions.

Country does affect the channels available.

WiFi only iPADS do 5 GHz. That's where mine is all of the time. I don't know whether or not the iPAD that has a cellular radio also does 5 GHz.
