RAM UPGRADE

Hi,

I've got a MacBook Pro 13" late 2011 and I'd like to upgrade the RAM to 8Gb.

I know there's a kit provided by Apple itself, but I think it's too much expensive ;

Is it another solution to upgrade my RAM without invalidating my warranty?? Can I upgrade the Ram by my self? (My one-year warranty ends in November)

Thankyou in advance

Federico

Yes to all your questions

RAM is one of the things you may upgrade on your machine without voiding the warranty.

There are a lot of companies selling the RAM modules, depending on your country

here is an example http://www.crucial.com/upgrade/apple-memory/MacBook+Pro-models.html

Yes, you can upgrade your RAM. It's a 10 minute job.

You can buy your RAM from Amazon, Newegg, Crucial and OWC.

Just make sure you install the right RAM spec'd for your Macbook which is 1333MHz - DDR3 - 204PIN

Stick with brand name RAM only. Brands like Crucial, Corsair, Mushkin, Patriot (Mac Series).

I personally use Crucial and Patriot (both 16GB) in my late 2011 Macbook Pro 13 Inch and 15 Inch with no issues.

You will not void your warranty - there is a section in your user guide on how to install RAM.
