Is there a way to not display my name when I send text messages?

Only your cell phone number is sent with an SMS or MMS. If the recipient has your cell phone number with your contact info/name in their phone's address book, your name will appear on the recipient's cell phone when sending the recipient an SMS/MMS.

It is possible for the recipent not to have your name for your number in their address book for your contact info, but the recipent must do that.

Have you ever received a text from a phone number that is not in your address book? If so, what do you see? You should see the phone number only. The same applies for someone you are sending a text to.

It would normally be addressed by your phone number, but if the recipient has your name and number in their contacts it will display your name (you can't override this on your phone).

Your name is not sent. However, if the person you text has your number in their contacts under your name, the text will show as coming from your name. You can't change that.
