I recently updated to Mountain Lion, and the CanoScan Toolbox X software that comes with my Canon 8400F scanner no longer works. After checking with the Canon website, it appears that they are not updating their software to work with the new system. Is there a third party program that I could use? Does Canon have a history of being behind on its updates?

I downloaded both the Canon App (CanoScan Toolbox for OSX (4.934x)) and the 8400f Driver (http://software.canon-europe.com/software/0035096.asp) and it works great! Tested on 10.8.4.

I was installing from scratch.
Installing Canoscan Toolbox and then the driver gave rise to "Driver not found" issues.
Re-installing Canoscan Toolbox after installing the driver made everything work fine.

Just did the same today on newly upgrade Mavericks OS 10.9.4. Worked like a charm. Thanks for the info!
Is there a way to get a Canon 8400F scanner to work with Mountain Lion?
