I am on the same network with my MacBook , my iPad using the remote app, and my computer, all with the same apple id, and neither AirPlay or home sharing is working. It just tells me to log into home sharing with my apple Id which I clearly have done on all 3 devices. please help. Thanks.

This was driving me crazy for weeks. I finally dug a little deeper and found that the only solution, for me, was to unplug my router (reset) and plug in back in. Make sure you unplug it long enought that the router does a full reset.

I cannot believe, but after all I went through to try and fix Home Sharing and AirPlay, this simple fix actually worked. Turned off the router and cable modem and the reset did the trick. Man so simple, but I was desperate and it worked. Thanks, jesinteractive.
I got the same problem and have restarted my modem and it still isn't work. Do you have any more ideas?
