Ipad not connecting to Adhoc

I connected an adhoc network on Windows Vista and I connected my ipad and it would not connect to the internet. Please help.

iPad 2, iOS 5.1.1, Using Windows Vista on PC

Does the iPad see the network? What is happening when you try to connect?

My MacBook Pro and iPhone 5 and a friend's iPad all have the same problem. My MacBook sees the connection in "devices" catogory in 'newtorks available'

But after putting passwork it just plainly says "connection error"

Please help.
