Previews not showing in Dashboard Movie widget

Has anyone else noticed that the Dashboard Movie widget is not showing the previews or the trailers. It seems I just noticed it today. Yesterday I installed the Java update, I'm wondering if that broke it? I tried making sure that Java is running, but nothing happens so far.

The movie information is there, just no previews and trailers available.

Any one have this problem and find a workaround??

You are correct, and I didn't mean to hijack your thread. No harm intended. I came to it from a search of the entire Apple Discussions site and started on the second page, where several people (those who I addressed) were on ML. For people like me who came into the thread the same way, the instructions should help (thanks to SJ), especially the one about letting 10.8.4 fix the ML version of the problem automatically. 😉

skopcho - I don't see it (you & others) as a hijack (sometimes threads, like emails don't portray what you are really trying to say!) - I apologize for that. All are welcome on all threads/discussions as I see it!

I was just trying to let some people know that your's and other posts with instructions will not work on Snow Leopard. I don't know why Apple is making it so convoluted. They change the file name and where it's kept, etc. And, a little bit, I really want to encourage someone with SL to come up with some solutions/workarounds, too!! LOL!

I don't know why my widget started working again, and I figure if it breaks again, there will be no way to fix it.

I've thought about moving up to ML, but I have a few programs that will only run on SL and I use them a lot.

It's common for companies to organize files differently on major software updates like ones from SL to Lion or ML. I looked, but can't seem to find the Movies widget in the installer package on my SL disc. If you can zip up your widget and the moviesParser.js file together and post for me to download, I can take a look at the code and possibly see what's causing your particular error.

Right now my widget is working. I just read somewhere (on this discussion maybe?) that the server is going to shut down or change or something? So I wonder if it will stop at some point....
