Is my PowerPC chip 64-bit?

I want to download mysql, but there's two choices offered: for PPC and for PPC 64-bit. Which one do I want?

PB G4 Aluminum, Mac OS X (10.4.5)

Hi Silkroad

From the info at the bottom of your post, I'd advise on downloading the PPC version - as far as I know, the only Mac to be 64-bit is the PowerMac G5. The G4, to my knowledge is 32-bit, with a 128-bit AltiVec engine on board.

All PowerPC G5 processor machines are 64-bit, making all iMac G5's 64-bit machines as well.

Wikipedia says G4 PPC chips are 64-bit. I'm still unsure of the answer to my question -- are the PPC chips in PowerBooks 64-bit also?

All G4 chips are 32-bit. Not 64-bit. The only PPC chip that is 64 is the G5. Wikipedia isn't the best place for info sometimes ;(
