I tried this solution but there was no blue rectangle in the corner.
I have the same problem - no blue rectangle in the top right hand corner. The only way I can find to deal with the full screen problem is to quit safari in order to get to my other activities, but that seems a bit feeble. Any other ideas?
Safari 8
When the window is in FullScreen mode, move the mouse over to the top of the screen.
When the window navigational buttons slide in from the left, click the green button.
By the way, this thread is two years old.
Stick your mouse all the way to the top of the screen which will make the menubar appear. Click on the blue rectangular icon in the far right corner.
Thankyou very much. All solved.
Glad I could help. 🙂
Thank you , thank you, thank you!
Command control F exits full screen
