RADEON x800 XT Mac video card installation: power supply connector?
i am really confused about how to install my new video card. does this video card require a power extension cable to connect the card to the optical drive power supply? if so, i either did not receive the cable or i lost it when i opened the box. i ordered another cable from the ati.com site, but i think it's for the wrong card (the x800 series, but not the mac model). i can't figure out what the right cable is, or if i even need one. the manual it came with was for the radeon 9800 series, not this specific card, so i can't find the information. the ati.com site is likewise completely unhelpful and doesn't list a manual for this product.
help? suggestions? i'm getting really frustrated! not to mention being out for the $20 power supply that i can't return.
thanks!
alexis
No power extension cable is required for your G5. I guess you got this idea from reading the manual. That manual is not solely for X800XT; actually it does not refer specifically to X800T but to the other cards and more on G4 tower.
