Export iPhone contacts to Excel (CSV or XLS)?

I wish to export all my iphone contact data to a single excel worksheet. Is there a way to export the data to an xls or a csv format (not separate csv files for each contact). I have the contacts in both my iPhone and the iCloud, but iCloud allows export as a vCard only.

iPhone 4S, iOS 5.1.1

I spoke with Apple to get the answer to converting Apple contacts to .csv. The first step is to select desired entries from your Contacts. (I selected all.) Next go into Numbers and clear all the columns and rows by clicking on dot in upper left hand corner of the table and select Cut. Now, drag and drop selected contacts onto the empty numbers screen. Finally, after examining and editing your result, simply select File>Export to csv. The support person says that she hears it works with Excel too, but I plan to just convert from Numbers as I couldn't the contacts to drag and drop directly.
