iPhone 5 shipping

I ordered an i5 early (4:30AM, EST) using the app. It was quick and easy. I have a question about the shipping. My confirmation says "available to ship: 2 weeks."

I suspect that this is a standard response until they match first-day orders with inventory, then they will give a specific date (hopefully the 21st).

Does anyone know what this means?

I ordered mine from AT&T's site Friday the 14th at 7:06am and at that time it stated 9/21 delivery. Up until yesterday it said "processing", but today it shows "shipped" but no tracking number yet. AT&T will email me the tracking number so hopefully if it is going to be delivered on the 21st, I should get that email tomorrow sometime. If for some reason mine doesnt arrive Friday and is a few weeks later, yes, Ill be disappointed, but its not the end of the world.

The initial batch of iPhone 5 orders are starting to ship out from China. Apple is using UPS this time to ship the iPhones.

While Apple has not sent out shipping emails or updated the status online to "shipped," users who ordered with Apple can use a trick to check their tracking number on UPS.

Note that this trick only works for orders from Apple.com

Simply fill out thetrack by reference[ups.com]form on UPS, and use your phone number associated with your Apple ID for the reference number. If that phone number does not work, keep trying any phone number that could be associated with your wireless account or the number you used to upgrade.

If none of your phone numbers work, try entering your Apple Order number, but leave off the last two characters.

Don't panic if UPS could not find your tracking, Apple is still sending these out!

Hey,I tried that with my order # and found that in the shipment type column I had to select mail innovation instead of package and next it said " your search has found 1 package matching your package reference criteria " Then stated that they didn't have all the updated info and to check back later.. We're getting closer!

Thanks for the tips...

Also I spoke with apple today and was told that apple is using UPS and Fedx.

At this point I wouldn't sweat it.... If your e-mail still says prepared to ship or shows it still in China, the key is the delivery date you recived from the initial Apple e-mail. Last year my iPhone 4s stil showed in China the day it was delivered. FedEx and UPS have so many shipments to scan, they get fantastically behind....

Just 2 more days for you folks....mine the 5th of Oct.

Seems us in Australia are severly not updated, i was the 26th person to order online here by phone , still says processing, yet the parrott on the phone when i called at 5pm was only saying if im in the area for for shipping id see it on the 21st ! , i told her im in Sydney which is Zone 1 , which in turn means the 21/9 🙂 anyway apple site says nothing except preparing to Ship , Australian Shipments are via TNT.... i find it odd that she said id get a email from TN/Apple saying its shipping on the same day im suppose to recieve it !

My status at UPS in Kentucky has finally changed. At 8:46 AM this morning, there was an "Import Scan" done on my package.

I guess my phone will be on the 5:15 AM flight from Kentucky to New Orleans where it'll make the trek to Baton Rouge.

During the night, my Apple Store updated to show it shipped - which I had been knowing since Saturday because of the forums here.
