Apple Event: May 7th at 7 am PT
I ordered an i5 early (4:30AM, EST) using the app. It was quick and easy. I have a question about the shipping. My confirmation says "available to ship: 2 weeks."
I suspect that this is a standard response until they match first-day orders with inventory, then they will give a specific date (hopefully the 21st).
Does anyone know what this means?

vc687 - mine left KY this afternoon at 2:34 PM. I was surprised. I can't figure out where it is going. I didn't see anything for a flight at that time to New Orleans. hmmm . . . at least it is moving!
We both had an import scan around the same time this morning.

It looks like mine arrived in Louisville five minutes behind yours this morning, but it's still there. I hope it isn't napping and missing its flight to my area (Las Vegas)! 😉
I ordered my phone at 3:46 EST. When started the ordering process, I was given a Delivery date of 9/21; however, when I completed the order and got my Order Confirmation it said: "Shipping in 2 weeks. Expected delivery date of 10/5." I called Apple 2 days later, and I was told that "EVERYONE" got the 2-week shipping notice (a lie), and that I will not receive it on 9/21, but that I MAY receive it sooner than 10/5. She said that they simply did not have enough of them manufactured (although they seem to have enough of them manufactured to launch the product in 20 other countries next week). Just to bug them, I called Apple again on Wedn. The guy then told me that I ordered the phone just 4-5 minutes too late to receive it on 9/21, and that I will have to wait until 10/5, if not later!!!

Well, there's where my plan falls apart. Guess I can wait until 10:30 tomorrow morning. 😀
I live in the northeast, it left KY earlier and arrived in CT an hour ago 🙂 I'm so excited

I also thought it funny that a huge co. like apple couldn't produce the phones for most. They will have quite a few tomorrow for all the campers at the stores though. They should have pushed that back.
Oh well mine is in route from Ky to wi as we speak. I'm lucky.
Emails from Apple and UPS, iPhone 5 is now in Albuquerque on way tomorrow to Santa Fe. Both Sites provided a sign if not home from I will post to our front door..what a massive logistical effort which as a professional project manager I truly appreciate. 24 more hours as we get UPS delivery towards early evening...
Just to add, I ordered the iPhone 32gb at around 1:15 local time or 12:15 pacific time, received the apple email at 1:25 a.m. What a relief
I'm starting to worry. My iPhone has been in Louisville since this morning and doesn't seem to want to leave. At this rate, it won't be in my hands by the promised time of before 10:30 tomorrow morning. <Sigh>
When my phone arrived in Jackson, MS from Louisville just now (not final destination), my delivery time changed from by 10:30 to by end of day. Yours will likely make that change too.
