iPhone 5 AT&T preorder status thread

Hi All,


I preordered 2 iPhone 5s thru AT&T last night (around 12:47am PST) and was sent the first emails (each email for each order) notifying that they should be delivered to me by 9/21/2012. About an hour later, I received second emails indicating that the orders are processed. Tracking numbers still say "pending shipment", but all look good so far.


Let's open this thread to keep track of our AT&T preorders status, so we can share our order situations.

I went to the AT&T store yesterday, the 13th, just to ask questions about my plan before I pre ordered. The sales associate told me I could go ahead and pre order early. He took all of my info and and said the order would be placed at midnight. I got a few emails from AT&T this morning confirming the order. The sales rep sent a pic of my receipt to me by MMS. However, the order time on the receipt was 7:39 am central. One of the emails from AT&T says "Thank you for your recent order. Your iPhone will ship in approximately 14-21 business days *. All orders are processed on a first come, first served basis." I really wish I would have placed the order through Apple myself. Looks like mine is delayed even after I thought I was ordering early.

Are you sure? How did you change the address? On AT&T website, the address automatically pops up as the billing address with NO option to change. On Apple website, even you put in the work address as shipping address, it automatically changes to the billing address.


I'm sorry and don't want to giving wrong information. Would you tell us how you changed the shipping address, especially with AT&T?

Hey guys, adding in my 2 cents for everyone

First off historically and it seems now as well Premier customers are SCREWED as usual...


We will either get DELAYED notifications.. or none at all.. and our statuses sometimes don't even get updated.


I'm like the previous poster up above... Ordered online but i have a premier account.. my page says Pending still... only thing charged on my card is 1$


THe cancel button is gone however...


if i sign into my ATT account and go to My orders nothing is there.. but that's usually normal for premier customers.. i'm hoping i get on the first shipment... or i'm canceling the whole thing.

Just an FYI for everyone I just got off the phone with AT&T Premier Specifically,

1. It's possible to change your shipping address for the iPhone order.

2. Their system is down, and I was told to try calling back tomorrow.


This bit of information would probably help out others who may need to change their shipping address as well, and it might explain the notices taking so long.

Ordered at AT&T website this morning (approx. 11:25am EST)...received email from Premier thanking me for my order with order # and activation code including link to check order status; says I should receive the phone "as early as Sept 21st". The link to check the status of my order says the order is "processing" but it looks like some of the page is missing because after it lists the shipping carrier, the last line on the page says "Preordered Items:" and there's nothing else there. I called AT&T around 345pm and they said they don't see anything about my order as my acct still lists me as being eligible for an upgrade.

Nothing has come out of my bank account for the purchase & no sign of the order when I log in to myatt. Where is this elusive cancel button you speak of???

Nevermind, I stand corrected again. The representative at AT&T just got back to me after speaking with upper management.


YOU CANNOT CHANGE THE SHIPPING ADDRESS.


It is Apple's regulations for the iphone to be shipped only to the billing address, and that there is nothing AT&T can do to change this information. The lady was very polite and tried to help me, but just couldn't do it as per Apple's rules. The only thing AT&T could do is cancel the whole order and make a re-order with new information. Of course that means I would need a new billing information to match the shipping destination.


Of course, I'm not going to do that. I just confirmed that my order is on scheduled to be delivered by 9/21, so all is well. My wifey and I just need to switch off on staying home next Friday.
