iPhone 5 Pre-Order Delivery Date

I pre-ordered iPhone 5 32 GB black CDMA version, at about 7 central time this morning, and website says it will be delivered on October 5. If this is true, I am extrememly unhappy. Could it arrive sooner than that time?

Thanks

hi everyone...I ordered mine and my husbands at 7am on 9/14. My husbands is now in Jamaica NY and just sitting there and mine is currently just sitting in ZhengZhou it's been there for a while. And what's bizarre my tracking times are all over the map, I'm so confused, I've never had issues with preorders and this is just obnoxious. I don't understand how orders can be so all over the place. What happened to first come first serve 😢

I'm not sure where that UPS tracking info would even be from...my tracking info doesn't have an estimated arrival date, it just shows it is in transit. I don't really know where it is since there hasn't been an update on the site since seen below and as far as via text, the last update I got was in transit to KY. I didn't even get the update that it had left nor where it went afterwards. Louisville is their air hub but for the life of me I can't understand why they would send it south to Georgia when it should be headed north to Chicago.

Just spoke with UPS and the very nice gentleman, Brad, said that the Apple products all had specific destinations they had to reach before they are shipped out. The 2nd round deliveries are tomorrow. I guess that's good news for everyone with the original Oct 5th delivery date. 🙂

Don't forget to print your pre-sign paperwork from UPS if you won't be home tomorrow!

Sent from my computer (where I've been tracking this blog full of equal parts childish banter and patient customers) because my iPhone 4 just reminds me that my package has yet to arrive.

That seems to be true, as I have just chatted with a woman on UPS website, and she says that the delivery date will DEFINITELY become available tomorrow morning, and SOME iPhone 5's will be delivered tomorrow, some Wednesday, and some after. Still seems likely that most deliveries will happen tomorrow, and the rest on Wednesday! So awesome! 😀

And this is good news for people still with late delivery dates, you will also probably get your iPhones earlier than you expect!

Good luck to everyone!

My package has been sitting in China for almost 48 hours and when I called UPS they asked me what my estimated delivery date was. When I told them September 28th, they told me not to worry as there is plenty of time for it to get to me before the expected date. They just have a large number of crates that are being shuffled all over the place and some are just lucky and get here faster than others.

He said I should call back and start an inquiry if it is still sitting in China on the 26th since it takes 24-48 hours for the packages to pass customs. At that point they would need to make sure it is on the plane in order to get it to me on the 28th.

-_-* All of this is too much of a headache. Grrrr me for getting over-excited and pre-ordering!

I like to thank you and JoshHProx for going through the trouble of contacting UPS. I was just tracking the plane from china to try and figure out when my iphone will arrive. The good news is that you still have your iphone 4. I had to sell my iphone 4 in order to get the 5. I got $197 for my iphone 4 from http://us.webuy.com/product.php?sku=SAPPIPH416GBBATTA. That was Thursday and the price of the 4 has already droped $10 so I wanted to get rid of it as soon as possible and havent had a phone since so getting it soon is important to me.

Again thanks for the work.

Yeah, Alexander. I ordered about 1 hour into the release and my husband ordered 12 hours after me, but from Sprint. He is already enjoying his phone while I'm trying to get my 2 year old Samsung to stop freezing up on me in between calls.

I have figured out that the time you ordered your phone doesn't matter because I know people who ordered through Apple 5-6 hours into the release and already have their phone. Apple really needs to get its game together. If it wasn't going to go by the whole "line (first come, first serve) policy" it shouldn't have claimed it - I wouldn't have waited up for the darn release!

Why is everyone so bitter? I realize we're a generation of "I want it now so give it to me 5 minutes ago" but wow...ease up. What is the use in complaining now? 2 days into using the new phone we'll all be over it anyway and seriously, people who already got theirs have already moved on to complaining. What ever happened to being excited and dealing with the wait?

If you wanted it in your hand immediately you should have camped out or waited in line. I concede it's been a weekend full of UPS updates and I know I'm disappointed I ordered ahead and could have driven to an Apple store all weekend and walked out with a phone but I don't think getting your phone less than a week after release and being shipped directly from China is that much of an inconvienence. 21 pages of complaints...this is the 99%.

@MissMolly - when you pay for a service, you expect delivery of said service. People who waited up to preorder may not have paid additional fees, however, they spent another important resource - TIME. Yes, I willingly did it, but it was because I knew I would not be able to leave my 8 - 5 job to wait in line and I believed Apple's promises of delivery within a week. I hold Apple and it's products in high regard, so when they are not organized and disappoint in such a manner, they outcry is louder than normal. There needs to be an outlet for the let down, especially since they have pretty much stopped accepting calls regarding their customer service (which this is showing essentially a lack thereof).

So please get your goody-two-shoes self off this discussion board and let us people who are disheartened by this turn of events console each other and recognize that we are not alone.

BTW - as I previously mentioned, my current phone has gone bizark and I held out for over two month for the iPhone instead of getting the Samsung Galaxy. So I am even angrier.

I ordered my phone at 4:30 AM, On the 14th and got a delivery date of October 5 I got two different phones, As of Sunday night I got to my Apple store said they were shipped, Since then I track UPS tracking number and he said they're sitting in China, With no specific delivery date, I was at Lenox mall over the weekend and I went into the Apple store and they told me that they didn't run out of phones until early Sunday morning, He also told me there wasn't even lines till about 10 AM On Saturday or Sunday morning, Obviously next time if you really want the phone you should just go to the store on the release date, But I must admit seeing everyone in the mall with the new iPhone five had me a bit ****** off.!, When stay up and preorder you do expect to have the phone at least soon as everyone else.,!, But rest assure if it's like everyone who received their phone on the 21st there's Took five days to ship from September 16 to the 21st they receive their phones, So far shipped out from China yesterday then we should have them all by Friday..! Good luck ......! I'm still excited to have one no matter how long it takes...! ;)
