Midi channels in Logic Pro 9

I have an Axiom Pro 61 hooked up to my new Macbook Pro Retina, using OS 10 8.1.

In Logic Pro, I have set up a piano track and assigned to midi channel 3. I have set up a drum track and assigned to midi channel 10.

On my axiom pro 61, I have assigned the drum pad group to midi channel 10. (On my Logic Pro transport, when I play the drum pads on the axiom, they are indicated as transmitting on channel 10, which indicates that I have assigned the drum pads correctly, and Logic pro recognizes the assignment.)

However, the drum pads play the sound of the track currently selected in Logic Pro, not the drums on midi channel 10.

ANy ideas what is wrong?

The setting you are looking for is:

Auto Demix by Channel (if multitrack recording)

Look under Settings/Recording.

(Settings are on a per song basis, Preferences are global)

As I recall, both tracks will have to be record enabled.

It's a bit of a work around, it would be much easier to have individual MIDI Interface ports and channels assignable on a per track basis.
