How do I move a photo album from my Mac to my iPad?

Welcome to the Apple Community.

Sync it through iTunes by choosing the album from the iTunes photo tab.

I understand that when you use this method it will wipe out all the existing albums you may have created on the iPad from photos taken there. I'm afraid to try it and I can not get any albums transferred using iTunes to my iPhone.My problem https://discussions.apple.com/thread/4492272

I've been able move the photos to the iCloud photo stream in iPhoto, open the iPad photos app (after waiting for them to appear), click edit, then save them to an album on the iPad. I'm having at lot of problems (11/10/2012) syncing since iCloud has entered the picture.
