Does anyone one know of a Mac version or simular software to Magic Software for the Samsung 830 512gb SSD?
MacBook Pro, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.1)
The only way to accomplish this is to update the firmware using samsungs magician software, this will require removing the hard drive and updating firmware via a windows machine.
Which is exactly why I don't recommend Samsung drives for Mac users. Crucial, Plextor (as far as I can tell anyway), OCZ, Intel, and SanDisk all have firmware-update utilities that are Mac friendly.
Stay away from OCZ. I went throught 3 of them before switching to Samsung. The 1st one was DOA, the 2nd one died after 2 weeks. It was like I had deleted everything. I could reinstall and all would be fine for an hour or two then poof! And the 3rd had a complete failure while installing the OS.
Now I have Samsung 840 Pro fast, and that is an understatement.

Do you know whether Samsung Magician works on a Mac via CrossOver, Bootcamp or other PC/Win compatibility software? Would love to use the 840 Pro on a MBPro.
