macbook retina graphic corruption: NVDA(OpenGL): Channel exception! exception type = 0xd = GR: SW Notify Error

Suddently, in Safari I had tons of graphic corruption (big squares, artifacts, blicking windows etc...) and the console was full of error messages (had to reboot to fix the issue). Someone know if the current dev build 10.8.2 includes new nvidia drivers?

As mentioned in a previous post, I was having this problem a lot (sometimes 2-3 times in a day) with my 2008 Mac Pro, and it seemed to start with the 10.8.2 update. I'm now running 10.8.3, and hadn't seen the problem since that update. But then just a few minutes ago I got a bunch of the OpenGL errors, but to my surprise, this time my machine did not crash! I first saw the tell-tale signs - screen started flickering, parts of the screen turned to blocks. I waited it out, expecting to have to hit the power-reset switch, which by now has become practically part of my muscle memory. But instead, when it all stopped, my machine just continued on. I looked in my Console log and confirmed that I got about 60+ "NVDA(OpenGL): Channel exception! exception type = 0xd = GR: SW Notify Error" messages. I still don't know what is causing it, and it's still annoying, but I hope that at least maybe it won't crash my system anymore. I typically have about 20 apps open while working, and it's been a real PITA to have to recreate my context everytime it crashed. Fingers crossed...

I have a 2010 MacBook Pro 13', and I also have the same problem (NVDA(OpenGL): Channel exception! exception type = 0xd = GR: SW Notify Error), but instead my computer just freezes.

Is there a fix to that or do I have to replace something?

Hi,

Just to let you know my problem is now fixed. After having changed 3 times my mother board, Apple support team finally identified a problem with my memory.

It seems that in my case, there is an incompatibility between my RAM (http://www.corsair.com/en/corsair-mac-memory-8gb-dual-channel-ddr3-sodimm-memory -kit-cmsa8gx3m2a106c7.html) and MACOSX >10.7.4.
