skunk smell

My dog lost a tussle with a large skunk and I believe he sat on my iPad while I was out. After a few baths he is smelling fine, but my screen ( no cover ) still reeks.

Mostly interested in if anyone else encoountered a touch screen device getting skunk stank on it and how the dealt with it.

Wow, I have nothing really to offer you, sorry. But I just wanted to thank you for the most interesting post in ages!

P.S. I do know of two somewhat effective remedies, but not sure how to apply them to an iPad. One is hydrogen peroxide & baking soda in a paste. The other is a commercial product called "skunk-off" which is a liquid usually sold in a spray bottle. The thing is I do not know what is actually in it and what it might do to an iPad screen (would not want to ruin that nice oleophobic coating).

i found a reference on a cell phone that got sprayed directly. The most reasonable one was putting it in a case with dry ice. I suspect that the screen surface is slightly porous. If that is true, then a smokers ipad / iphone would also smell smoky, though the mike on the handset certainly would absorb the oders.

😮 I would try other "remedies" BEFORE going to the extreme of using Dry Ice 😮

The screen has a Oleophobic coating.

I don't know what Dry Ice would do to this.
