Any updates from anyone on iPhone 5 shipping? (for people w/ Oct. 5 delivery)

I ordered mine 9/14 @ 5AM Central but am getting a Oct. 5 delivery date. I talked to a apple rep in store and said I should be getting it this Friday. Confused, but we'll have to see.

Ordered before 7:00 AM EST and my delivery date is still showing October 5th. I really don't hold any hope it will be here this week. And apple31, I don't mean to be negative, but I doubt you will either.

This isn't right. I'm not going to be upset over it but why pre-order a phone at 5AM in the morning and just end up getting it 2 weeks after it releases?

Um, because they sold something like 2,000,000 phones in 60 minutes. It's called supply and demand and this launch is the biggest in Apple history. I set my alarm for 3 AM EST, but must have turned it off when it rang, so I was late. Other's however weren't late and they get their phones. It is not a disaster. It's a phone and if we have to wait a couple weeks, we'll all servive.

Nope, still showing October 5. I think I ordered it around 3:30 a.m. CST. I was up earlier, but didn't know for sure if shipping was going to be signature required, so I ordered after I confirmed that detail. At that point, I was October 5. I'm okay with it, I'm not going to die from having to wait 2 weeks for a phone! 🙂 My 4 is still working fine.

Look on the bright side. On launch day, about 2,000,000 will be all trying to activate their phones at pretty much the same time. If anyone thinks Apple's servers had issues with pre-orders, just wait till they try to activate their phones. By the time we get our phones, we'll have had the opportunity to learn from all the "horror" stories people will regale and our activations will go ever so much smoother!

I ordered mine at 3:20am EST. Got my confirmation at 3:30am saying shipping date of the 21st. Now its saying October 5th. Not to happy seeing as my current phone is broken. Not really in the mood for waiting another 2 weeks after getting up at 3 in the morning for the first set. Way to upset your customers apple. 😠

I ordered mine at 2:30am PST (passed out on my initial failed attempt at 12:01am due to servers crashing) and got the two weeks shipping time for Oct 5th. I still don't see a pending charge from Apple and the shipping date has yet to change.

Worst case scenario, I'll just play with iOS6 on my i4S until the shipment arrives. At least by then, you'll know how much better the iOS6 performs on the i5. 😉

I ordered at about 11 a.m. central on 9/16 yet my order status doesn't even have an expected shipping date yet. Any advice?

You may want to start your own thread for a 9/16 order date. This thread is for those who have the Oct. 5 delivery date as specified on the thread topic. Aren't you part of the 2-3 weeks delivery timeframe? I'd say you're in the mid October delivery slot.

I called APPLE Support today to inquire about alternative shipping methods, just FYI they wont change your shipping speed. But we got into a conversation about the "Concreteness" of OCT 5. She told me that it was a good estimate, however after a few minutes she told me that she would be surprised if it took that long, and that it was merely a safe bet. Hope this helps
