it's worth noting that the program priority will reset when you exit iTunes so this is only a temparory fix

Thanks to the dude who found a temp solution 😀 i can enjoy music yayyy but now waiting on a full fix so i dont have to constantly do this lol but thanks dude seriously you dont know how ****** it got me

It will add the option to leave the priority saved, so even when you restart the pc, or close iTunes it will save the Priority.

It's a temp Fix while Apple fix this at all.

After downloading latest update version as everyone else, was having the skipping problem. Came here and read alvarorojas4 answer and followed instructions and VOILA! no more skipping of any kind. So if you have Win XP, do the ctrl-alt-delete to get Task Manager, and in Processes scroll down to iTunes.exe and right click on it and click Above Normal, yes to warning - NO MORE SKIPPING. Thank you alvarorojas4.

I will have to say that anytime an update come up for anything Apple, I cringe because it never fails to have issues. Does anyone at Apple test these updates before putting them out for us poor folks to try and figure out how to get the glitches out. Seriously folks, I really am thinking of using something else because this is a real pain in the arse. Although I know this is falling on blind eyes. Apple just don't care . . .
