Am I the only one having ios 6 ipad 3 wi-fi issues

after my update to ios 6 I tried to set up the ipad and it was unable to join the network....so since then I have reset the network settings, NO SOLUTION!... tried messing with my wireless router settings and switching different channels NO SOLUTION!! , and also reinstalled ios 6 to see if that was the issue....NO RESOLVE!

I have come to terms with the fact that my ipad was fine and connected easily before ios 6 with ios 5, so its not my router or wifi settings.....and my ipod touch 4g was updated to ios 6 as well and it connects absolutely fine to my wifi now.....SO SO FAR I AM VERY FRUSTRATED WITH THE UPDATE!

My iPhone5 and iPad3 will not stay connected to the dllink 615 router. This all began with the update to 6.0.1. I have repeatedly unplugged and reset the router and that is not the solution because my notebook stays connected all the time. The router signal is fine. There is a new 6.0.2 update available today, should I try it? My neighbor uses my wi-fi too and he cannot connect at all, this just started two days ago. Up till then there were no problems with connection.

Help! THis is frustrating!!!

Make sure your router SSID is not the default "dlink" or "wireless" or "linksys" or whatever. Set it to something unique like "catherinehome" or something like that. If its the default from factory setting like all the other routers in the world it wont remember it sometimes. It would be best if you also reset your network settings (settings>reset>reset network settings). Or you will just need to forget the current network on your device, change the router SSID then rejoin. Also the update is 6.1.2 and its been out a few weeks now 6.0.2 is the older version.

Bill, my wi fi problem started when I changed my router setting from WEP to WPA and WPA2. The phone and ipad both stay connected at work where the router is set to WEP, so I have to change my router back to WEP I suppose. Which is not a very good solution, but seems my only choice. I had the iPad replaced and the second one is no better. I wasted a good week with tech support wiping out the devices completely and restoring them, and managed to lose one page only of my notes on the iPad but not the phone. Now how is that even possible? I backed them both up to two computers and to the cloud, so if part of the notes are there, why not the one page? and naturally, it was the most important one! However, in an abundance of caution, I actually hand wrote the information on that page onto a piece of paper, the good old fashioned way, as I was sure there would be a glitch.

I am not very happy with either my phone or iPad right now, and wish I had waited to buy them after doing some more research. I learned a valuable lesson here. Thanks Apple.

The new netgears have some type of problem i had to go back to a Dgnd 3300 to find one that works have a brand new 200.00$ that i got a few monts ago that droped the connection about 20 times a hour the old on maby once a day and that is on a PC . I have found most problems have not been the ipads it the router configurations most routers are out of date and made for and on old windows XP so that is my opinion why the newer equipment is having all these problems. out dated routers or mis confighred routers.

You guys scared me out of buying a new wifi router, lol. I can't believe this thread is still continuing on and on with people having wifi issues.

If all else fails you can go cheap like me and buy a Cisco WUSB600N wifi dongle for $16. It's dual band, great range, runs flawlessly all day long. I can get a signal on my ipad/iphone in my front yard or out back by the pool. Comes with a fairly long cord so you can put it up high or in a window. I was using Connectify-me to run it but they started messing up the free version so I now use Virtual Router (also free). Same internet speed as the desktop it's plugged into. About the only downside is the computer it's plugged into has to be on for it to work, which it always is anyway at my house. Of course, if you have to restart your computer you might get some complaints from other users:)

Just sayin'

I tried several things. Sometimes, it's as simple as:

-turning the iPad off and on

-turning Wi-Fi off and on (in Settings)

-forget network and reconnect while re-entering wifi password (in Settings)

-closing all apps by tapping and holding the task bar at the bottom of the screen and then tapping minus. Then reset the device by holding down the power button and the circular button simultaneously until the apple appears.

-unplugging and reconnecting router

Some of these seem very simple, but they aren't on Apple's WiFi assistance page. I know it's very frustrating when this happens, so I hope my struggle helps someone else.
