IPad and IPhone stuck in recovery mode after trying to update to ios 6

I know this post is quite old but I'm kinda having the same problem. My Iphone 4 was water damaged so took it to a shop to be repaired. It cost me £45 and he said all was working great, I get home and literally half an hour to fourty five minutes it was off again only going to the apple screen then going black again. I took it back and he said he had to replace the battery but said this was going to be free of charge as I'd already paid. So today I picked up my phone and it was working fine, then its taking ages to charge and died very quickly. I try to charge it in the car and I get the reset screen and its telling me to connect to itunes so I get home and its according to itunes its in recovery and everytime I try and restore it I keep getting the same error message 21. I've tried turning computer off and on again, unistalling itunes and nothing seems to be working. I need my phone for work especially, would it be easier to just get a new phone I'm sick of all this hassle 😟

Hey zoiks i only have about 3.4g availiable how much space would this take up and my software update is downloading but something keeps popping up saying " iTunes has detected an iPad recovery mode. You ust restore this iPad before it can be used with iTunes

I've got the same problem cant connect to Itunes and my Iphone is stuck in recovery after a restore, have followed all the instructions to update the driver on my windows computer but it comes up with an error saying 'access is denied'. HELP! I have also tried removing itunes completely from my computer and it ha not helped.

Follow these steps to solve iPad stuck in recovery mode:

1. Press the "Sleep/Wake" and "Home" buttons together.

2. Hold the buttons down for a while until the iPad/iPhone turns off.

3. Press "Sleep/Wake" to turn the iPad/iPhone back on. The iPad/iPhone should exit recovery mode and start normally. If this doesn't work, proceed to restore the iPad with iTunes.

While trying to update my IPad to IOS 8 through iTunes the file became corrupt my IPad was stuck on recovery mode. I had tried everything but nothing seemed to worked. I gave up and decided to call apple for help, they had me on hold for about 20 minutes. While waiting I had found the program Reiboot and it saved my IPad (I was still on hold). If none of the things mentioned before me work for you do the following

1) Go to http://www.tenorshare.com/products/reiboot.html

2) Download reiboot for Mac/PC depending on your preference.

3) Install then run the program.

4) Connect your IPhone/IPad/IPod then click exit recovery and it should return you device back to how it was before you tried to update.

NOTE:If you want to try updating again do it through your device it worked out for me.

A few days ago, I updated my iPad 2 to the latest ios 8.1.1. This caused my iPad to go into recovery mode for some reason. It kept prompting me to plug into iTunes. Doing that, iTunes wouldn't recognize my iPad. I updated my iTunes, but that did not help. I tried connecting to iTunes on different computers, attempted a full restore, resulting in error codes and restore/update failures.

After searching online, reading numerous posts, and attempting various solutions, the one you gave here was the one that did the trick.

The past few days I thought my iPad was a goner for good and I was about to give up. You saved the day! Thank you.

My iPhone 5 is currently on recovery mode because an error 6 occurred while the phone was updating to iOS8. I do not have any backups on my iTunes or iCloud but I really need all my data back. I'm not sure how credible are the recovery softwares online and I'm really lost. Please someone help me. Are you using iPhone 5 into_the_aether???

You can use iTunes to exit recovery mode.

(1) Connect your iPhone to your computer and run iTunes on your computer.

(2) Select your iPhone from the list of buttons at the top of iTunes, then click the "Restore" button.

(3) Wait for the backup and restore process to complete, then "restore from backup" in iTunes after the phone has been restored.

NOTE: This method will fix iPhone stuck in recovery mode, but will restore the iPhone in the process. This will erase everything on the iPhone, but a backup will be created during the Restore process, allowing you to recover your data.

FIXED!!!! For me anyway, and I hope for you!

So I tried to update to ios 7 and after downloading the software itunes tried to update my iPad 3. I recieved the error 3004 and was stuck in the "Connect to iTunes" screen and could not get out of it. Completely annoyed!

But then I remembered something from when I used to fiddle with iphones. I opened a program I had called TinyUmbrella, which can be used to force boot out of recovery mode (the "connect to itunes" screen).

My ipad was still connected to itunes and in recovery mode. I opened TinyUmbrella, selected my ipad (which was just shown by the serial number), then clicked "Exit Recovery" and BAM!!! It immediately kicked my out of the recovery screen and started my ipad back up to my home screen.

Now, my ipad was still on 7.1.3 since the update to ios 8 had failed. But I didn't care, my ipad was fully functional again just like I left it before. Thank God for TinyUmbrella! Here's the CNET link for TinyUmbrella if you need it:

And if you can possibly dodge it don't upgrade until there is a fix. My iPad update went thru and now it is useless. Add to that the 144mb Apple Music app that is paid and I didn't opt into *** Apple?
