Hello,
I am currently an owner of an Ipod Touch 4th generation. I see you are having problems with your Ipod Touch/Ipad/Iphone/Ipod Classic, so I will try to find a solution to your problem.🙂
Before you try anything, I would suggest you to try the following things (it has helped me on my Ipod Touch 4th generation battery drain!):
- Do the IOS update (the one that is the latest, or if you already did, then proceed to step 2)
- Reset All Settings: SETTINGS>GENERAL>RESET>RESET ALL SETTINGS
- Use it until it dies (automatically shuts off)
- Plug into Charge
- Leave it 1.5 hours or longer after it reaches 100% --> Undisturbed (preferably overnight)
- Give it a few days to Calibrate
This has helped me on my Ipod Touch 4th generation, running IOS 6.0.1
Hope that helps!
If none of the above solutions work, can you please respond back ASAP as I will try to find another solution to your problem (This might even help others with the same problem!)
Cheers!

Pizza, why are you spamming this board? Your suggestions are scattered throughout the 138 pages of this thread and people are still having issues. People have done all these steps and they have helped very few people. Apple needs to acknowledge this issue and FIX it. There should be no reason for this thread to even exist if they put out a quality product and proper updates. There should be NO reason a community of Apple users need to try and fix the problems themselves after paying hundreds of dollars for their product. The onus should be on Apple to ensure their products, even if they consider them 'outdated' (for those of us who don't have the iphone 5). Not everyone has the money to be rushing out to buy the latest and the greatest, and really, after the issues I've been having with my 2 iphones, I have absolutely zero desire to ever spend another dime on an apple product again. They've seen as much of my hard earned money as they're going to get after they botched these latest updates and rendered my phones virtually useless unless I plan on having a place to charge them 24/7.
The fact that there are 138 pages on this issue and Apple has not acknowledged the problem (even when people like me go into an Apple store to complain and get BS lip service from their 'genius' staff) is a total crock of crap. They are more interested in new product, like this ridiculous Apple watch that is coming out than to stand behind the products they already have out, they messed up and end up with many irate customers. Their stock is already dropping, and as far as I can see, the only way to make them take notice is if people simply stop buying their products (which I have already resolved to do seeing as how I now have 2 worthless iphones). Customer service is sorely lacking with this company and the staff in the Apple stores are totally useless. I am very disappointed in Apple especially if you have this many pages of complaints on their OWN website and they still can't/won't do anything to fix the issues.
The bottom line is it should NOT be up to the consumers to attempt to fix issues, shut off features that drew us to the phone to begin with and waste time on these forums looking for solutions to get our phone working properly again. Apple needs to take notice of how they screwed up, the numerous unhappy customers and do something to fix this mess.
