iOS 6 iPhone 4s battery drain

Did an OTA update to iOS 6, and my iPhone 4s is draining quite quickly almost a percent every three minutes

Only apps running are Settings, Messages, Phone, and Mail, and Location Servces are on for Google, Maps, Nearby, Reminders, Safari, Siri, weather, and YP Mobile (sames as before the iOS 6 update) All apps are up to date, and restarted the phone twice. On local WiFi, with AT&T cellular service, four bars.

Phone would get warm at times as well.

Maybe it's an anomaly, else, lets see if this post grows...

Do not skip it. Apple was hacked and the iOS 6.1.2 is for security purpose too.

While I can't say that there are no security fixes in iOS 6.1.2, Apple makes no mention of them and they are usually very explicit about what they've addressed. I can, however, guaranteed that iOS 6.1.2 has absolutely nothing to do with the recently-reported security breach at Apple which was due to malware exploiting the vulnerabilities in Java.

Regards.

Hi, all

I did a factory reset of my 4S yesterday (before the release of 6.1.2) and followed the advice not to restore from a back up instead starting as a new phone.

It worked.

Obviously this is extremely inconvenient. I lost my camera roll, have to download and confidgure all my apps, etc and had to re-enter all my email accounts etc. Fortunately icloud meant my contacts and iWork documents were not affected.

One change I did notice. Prior to the reset, I could eliminate the overheating and improve battery perfomance by disabling cellular data. Since the reset the I've noticed that the cellular data settings (Setting -> General) have changed in name from "Cellular Data" previously to "Mobile Data" now. This was with iOS 6.1.1 before the reset and 6.1.1 after the reset. Not sure why this is the case.

In any case my battery perfomance is much better than it has been for quite a while. General perfomance of the phone also seems a tad faster, but I could be imagining that.

I have an ipad 2, my husband has the iPhone 4 and I have the 4s my problem lies with the 4s. My battery dies quick but that's manageable, I am however starting to get really irritated with my phone shutting off when there is 10% battery left. I installed the latest update 6.2.2 And it has done nothing. The phone doesn't tend to get hot unless I'm talking on the phone or when it's charging. I've had problems with this phones battery since buying it. Of course sprint is a bunch of turds and the closest apple is over an hour away. Anyone have any solutions for the phone shutting off before the percentage goes to 1%?

I posted a few days ago. I have a 4s and my battery drains at the rate of 1% per minute. very handy.

I did the update last night. no change.

I refuse to erase and reset my iphone. I don't want to lose data. I've backed it up on my computer and in the cloud, but still, I shouldn't (we all shouldn't) have to go through all that. Apple, have you chimed in on this issue yet? The 6.1.2 update didn't fix the problem.

after updating my iPhone 5 to ios 6.1.2 battery consumption is quite a bit worse is it possible that with each update instead of improving the performance of the battery instead of the worst, I ask the Apple to provide as soon as possible to resolve this battery problem since after the firmware update can no longer return to the previous ios version. Thank you and hope for the best ......
