iOS 6 iPhone 4s battery drain

Did an OTA update to iOS 6, and my iPhone 4s is draining quite quickly almost a percent every three minutes

Only apps running are Settings, Messages, Phone, and Mail, and Location Servces are on for Google, Maps, Nearby, Reminders, Safari, Siri, weather, and YP Mobile (sames as before the iOS 6 update) All apps are up to date, and restarted the phone twice. On local WiFi, with AT&T cellular service, four bars.

Phone would get warm at times as well.

Maybe it's an anomaly, else, lets see if this post grows...

I was losing about 1% power every 5 minutes (on an iphone 5) when I started reading this thread. As many others have described, the phone was getting warm whether off or on I had ported over all the apps from an iPhone 3GS using the standard iTunes migration flow (on a PC with the cable.)

I tried turning off almost everything to no avail. Finally, I deleted the Facebook app and my phone on lost 1% over 8 hours. Then I re-installed and reconfigured the Facebook app and the power consumption did not go back up. My guess is that somehow the process of migrating Facebook from an older phone to a newer one caused it to start sucking power, but I don't know for sure.

Thanks to those that pointed out that the Facebook app might be the problem.

I had great standby life but as soon as using the phone it went to cr@p...

I didn't have a webcam handy but used the front camera on iPad to look at the proximity sensor on the front of my 4s when the phone was active/unlocked - I didn't have raise to speak or even Siri on but the sensor was alight as soon as screen went on. Anyway, I turned on Siri, turned on raise to speak then came out of the settings, went back in, switched off raise to speak then switched of Siri and came out. Rebooted the phone and the proximity sensor is now off when I look in the camera.

Gonna play with the phone for a while and see if the drain continues but first impression blasting some youtube videos is that it's instantly better...

I have an iPhone 4. Since upgrading to iOS 6, my phone runs hot and battery goes from 100% to almost nothing in a few hours - all of this while on standby. Worked fine before updating to iOS 6. I have turned off just about everything and this helped a little bit. I have also done the hard reset to no avail. I have noticed that my radio and handset for my office phone make buzzing noises whenever the iPhone is uncovered and in general proximity. Another person in my offce cannot use her stereo speakers because of the same problem.

I am also experiencing the same problem with the proximity sensor on my 4S. Regardless of whether I turn off Siri or the raise to speak feature or even the auto-brightness and after doing a reboot several times the proximity sensor is still flashing when I look thorough the iPads front facing camera. This is really frustrating as I can't seem to find a way to get it to turn off and I think this may actually be the cause of the battery drain as it was back when iOS 5 first came out. Looks like is bug is bag in iOS 6. I think I may try doing a full restore and see whether makes a difference. Is anyone else experiencing this with there proximity sensor?

I have tried just about everything suggested in this forum and both my iPhone 4 and iPad 2 are lucky to get 4-5 hours of battery life IN STANDBY mode.

I don't want to have to turn features off my devices that I rely on. Afterall, many of these features are the reason that I purchased the products in the first place.

If Apple is reading this thread (I'd like to think so) then they need to fix this TODAY!!! Not in a week, month or year. TODAY!!!

As a global company, with so much earnings from their portable devices, they have a corporate responsibility to ensure that their products work as advertised. Period.

I have thousands of dollars invested in Apple products and to have both my personal and professional life affected in this way is simply unacceptable.
