iOS 6 iPhone 4s battery drain

Did an OTA update to iOS 6, and my iPhone 4s is draining quite quickly almost a percent every three minutes

Only apps running are Settings, Messages, Phone, and Mail, and Location Servces are on for Google, Maps, Nearby, Reminders, Safari, Siri, weather, and YP Mobile (sames as before the iOS 6 update) All apps are up to date, and restarted the phone twice. On local WiFi, with AT&T cellular service, four bars.

Phone would get warm at times as well.

Maybe it's an anomaly, else, lets see if this post grows...

Got exactly the same problem here but I can add a complication to the issue:

I am on a 4S and updated to the GM of iOS 6 last week and have had a week of perfectly normal usage. This morning I hopped on the train to work at 100% and when I got to work 30 minutes later it was down to 30%. So, it's not as a result of updating to iOS 6 this week, because I haven't.

Is it something that Apple has turned on at their end overnight, or that went wrong on their end overnight?

I have confirmed that my proximity sensor blinks whether Siri and 'raise phone to speak' are turned on or not, but I don't know if my phone did that before as I never looked. I used it in the rain yesterday briefly so perhaps moisture got onto the sensor and triggered my issues coincidentally as you guys have a different issue with the same symptoms.

But that would be one heck of a coincidence.

So you started experiencing incredible drain as soon as you installed iOS6? Weird, mine definitely only started this morning and I've had it a week.

Last year I had a similar thing just start happening and I narrowed it down to the phone searching for iTunes when on wifi, constantly. When at work o the work wifi it would burn through battery at 10% every 30 minutes or so doing absolutely nothing. At home it was perfectly normal. Back to work, burnt through battery.

Haven't had chance to monitor battery use when at home yet. However, I have looked at three other perfectly normal 4S phones that colleagues own and they all show a blinking proximity sensor whether Siri and Raise To Speak is turned on or off. They are on both iOS6 and iOS5, so I don't think that turning off Raise To Speak is even meant to affect that sensor turning on when the screen is on.

As soon as I updated last night I noticed the excessive drain today. It's been off charge since 8am and it's now 1pm, it's currently on 50%. Normally at this time of the day it would be on around 80-85% still. Something definitely isn't right. It's just sat there idling with wifi enabled just like it always does and it has 3 bars of cellular signal. No other settings have been changed as I've not had time to play with it.

I have the same problem everyone else is reporting. Automatic update of IOS6 yesterday. No unusual usage after, but low battery by early evening. I have never had a low battery for this phone. It's a iPhone 4S and I carry it every day, charge it every night. It always stays above 50% charge, mostly it's at 90%. So something has changed with IOS6.

Please include me on the solution,. Thanks.
