iOS 6 iPhone 4s battery drain

I turned off iCloud and deleted all iCloud info, then turned it back on again and reassociated with ipmac.

iphone 4s and same battery problem. i upgraded to iOS 6 GM last week and i've actually been experiencing it since then, contrary to some other early GM users. I have plenty of background services running (a couple exchange accounts, icloud, location, siri, etc) but i've always had them running (in iOS 5, 4, etc). there's definitely something goin on in iOS 6. please fix!

another note, i had a netgear wireless router in my office and all of a sudden won't connect AT ALL after upgrade. no matter what settings i changed on the router (channel, b/g/n, WEP, WPA, WPA2) it would never ever connect. i wonder if anyone else experienced this?

Screw this, after updating to iOS 6 yesterday, dramatic drainage, and then fully charging overnight, I went from 100% battery to 86% in 1.5 hours this morning, most of which was idle time with the screen not activated! This is crap. Restoring to iOS 5 today. FAIL.

Guys this is pretty common for a few users everytime there is an iOS upgrade either a point release or major release. Typically what will resolve it is a "reset all settings" and setup as new after the phone reboots. This is found in your settings menu. This will not erase your apps or data. Then a full drain of battery until it cuts off by itself and a full charge (unattended) leaving on change for maybe 1 to 1.5 hrs past when it shows 100%.

I have seen this resolve LOTS of users with this issue since iOS 5.0. As for me iOS 6 seems to have better battery so far than any of the previous versions on my 4s.

I just can't comprehend how I went a full week of no problems whatsoever on the GM, and then overnight it starts playing up at the same time as everyone updates to iOS 6 proper.

Does suggest it being something on Appke's end that changed in the last 24 hours, no?

Then again, some GM people noticed it last week. So maybe not at Apple's end. What would cause it to start suddenly with no change whatsoever to apps or settings on my end overnight?

Turning Siri off is not a solution that I want to consider as a fix... Siri is one of the best features of the Iphone.

After almost an hour testing with location services on and off and writing down the battery level at intervals, I'm seeing about 1% every 3-5 mins drain, with it off I'm seeing 1% every 15 mins drain (around normal-ish). Isn't this the same thing that happened with iOS 5 when it went live? Perhaps it's the same bug that's come back to haunt us.

My 4S was draining a percent about every 5 minutes. It was down to 89% and I did the reset and upon reboot it was up to 92% and not draining as fast. So there is hope so far that the reset helps.

Did you use reset in the phone menu or a full iTunes reset? Does the menu reset erase your wifi passwords? My works IT tech is sick of me asking to have it put in again.

I'm now observing no %age change after 30 mins with location services off. Very weird bug...

Same issue here too. Updated to iOS 6 before went to bed with battery fully charged, and this morning, what a ****, 50% of the power is gone!! Without doing anything!!

My iPhone is running out of battery very quick with the IOS6 yesterday with the same use by this time I would have about. A 98 % today I haven't even touch it and I have 83%

Same issue here. I have a 3GS and updated to iOS 6 yesterday. It was charged overnight to 100%, and by the time I got to work this morning, without using it at all, it was down to 84%. This is a new battery as of about 3 months ago, and I have not had these issues with iOS 5, so I know it's not the battery. It's iOS 6.

I have the same problem here, last night I updated my 4s to IOS 6, then I left the phone on my desktop at 100% of battery, when I wake up it had 75%. (My 4s is new, it has 3 days of use) I also have a Wifi connection problem, I connect to my wireless router and I can't generate data transfer, even in appstore, youtube, maps or safari. Now, to solve this issue, I have to disable the wifi on the iphone, and re-enable it, then it works...

I have read all the comments on this post, and seems to be a problem for those users who have and iPad 3, iPhone 4 and 4s, maybe apple is recollecting data from users. Because there are people, who have updated to the IOS 6 a week before (I think to a beta version), and they didn't have any problems, until yesterday when their batteries started to drain.

Any opinions?

I did a restore to factory. Did not restore any data. Used the phone for almost 24 minutes of voice and web and dropped only 2 percent. Did a restore from my backup and now see normal usage. It appears the upgrade software got "corrupted" and now I am back to normal usage
