How to delete VIP Mailbox, iOS 6

How can you delete the VIP Mailbox from the mail screen on iOS 6? This VIP box is highly annoying and gets in the way of important other mailboxes. This seems like it would have to be configurable and not shoved down your throat by Apple as it really is a worthless feature.

Thanks in advance

Yes indeed, just as soon as we clicked on the star that made the final VIP person into a non-VIP person, the "VIPs" mailbox did instantly entirely vanish from our screen! This was such a relief!

Maybe this won't work for you because of older hardware or software? Our machine is a very recently purchased MacBook Retina and we do have it set for automatic installation of new Apple downloads -- so maybe Apple has recently tweaked something about either its harware or its software?

See, I'm the exact opposite. I Love having complete control over my phone, and especially my E-Mail accounts. Being able to only get notifications and/or alerts from specific users, across multiple E-Mail accounts, in one "VIP" location is a blessing. That someone doesn't want to use it, or doesn't understand how to use it, does not make it a bad inclusion.

This is such a nice feature for those that do use it, and is practially a non-issue for those who do not use it. I don't understand the "problem" that users are complaining about. If you don't use it, then don't use it.

It is a virtual mail box. That is to say, it is not real. It is a view that you may use or not use as you choose.

If this is that upsetting to you, maybe you should contact the FCC about all the empty space on your radio dial that you don't want to deal with... It will probably get you just as far as ranting about the VIP mailbox will here.

So you like absolutely everything & you have total control of every little detail of everything in Windows 8?

Or are those little things you don't like/ cannot control slowly turning you away from it?

It's comments like this that make me wonder about some people...

I'm not going to turn this into a Windows vs Apple arguement as you seemed to be inclined to do.

My point was more-so, when windows does updates, it at least doesn't stick unwanted icons or sections in programs that I cannot just delete or get rid of. That is completely controlled by me. And yes, there is more control over my PC than the Iphone. That isn't even debatable.

The inbox app used to not have this "VIP" feature, and for them to just decide to implement it without giving the user the option of disabling it is just sheer frustrating as it is worthless to some and takes up screen space that existed prior to inclusion.

It's comments like yours that not only make me wonder, but pity...go troll elsewhere.

I've been following this quite some time, and the only thing this discussion board has proven is:

1) E-Mails notifying me of replies from here wastes space in my gmail inbox

2) Most people on here act like children trying to pick arguments, when there shouldn't be means to form one.

For a technological innovator like Apple that prides it-self on being efficient yet robust, it is small seemingly-insignificant things such as this feature that proves otherwise. The ignorance to this is just astounding...

It's not Mac OS vs Windows at all.

It's your comment, "It's small things like this that make me want to turn away from Apple".

Instead of Windows, I could have used your car, your house, your job, your wife, etc... but you mentioned you have WIndows 8 so that's what I went with...

But really? The small things bother you that much?

And to get back to my point, there is NOTHING that bothers you even a little about Windows (car/house/job/wife/etc.)? It's not making you want to turn away from Microsoft (Hyundai/home builders/grocery bagging/women/etc.)?

It's comments like yours that not only make me wonder, but pity...go troll elsewhere.

???

Perhaps you should go find the definition of "troll".
