Since upgrading to iOS 6 deleting music isn't possible by swiping from left to right. How do you do this now?

that's how its still done, if that doesn't work then there may be an other issue. Try turning off the phone, then on again.
Rebooted my phone still doesn't work. Incidentally just tested on my iPad3 and I have the same issue on that.
I don't remember ever being able to delete a song ON the iphone.
mine is working fine
maybe your in your playlist thats why you cant swipe delete a song.. try going to the songs tab then try to swipe delete
No I was in songs, doesn't work on albums either and it did before. I shall bite the bullet and reset it. Are you using todays release of iOS not the beta or RC?
yeah, im using the ios 6 apple just release today.. and it works fine for me..
On further investigation it looks like this is an issue if you have iTunes Match turned on. When I switched that off I was allowed to delete as normal.
Hopefully this issue will be fixed soon.
hopefully.. have fun with the new ios.. right now im loving the improved siri..
Yes you can detele songs if you turn off Music Match. If you turn it back on the songs redownload.
It used to be that with it turned on that you could delete songs off your device to save space, but they would still show with an iCloud icon next to it incase you wanted to redownload. It doesn't work that way anymore, seems to be all or none.
Anyone figure out how to delete song while still being able to redownload?
I'm having the same problem. Can no longer delete iTunes match songs from the music app. I am not referring to songs in a playlist, but while in "songs" or "albums" tab.
On the phone with Applecare now, they don't seem to be aware of the problem.
confirmed that turning itunes off then you can delete music again, but you'll lose all your itunes match playlists. its takes a little to turn itunes match back on too but when you do itunes match playlist will all be there again.

Apple exec: we need to add a new feature to itunes music player app and compete against pandora and other music streaming companies.
employee: how about finally allowing our customers to stream music like how it is on the computer now that there is LTE.?
apple exec: good do that. hum. but now we dont need the ability to delete songs anymore if you can stream and use up wifi and 3g lte data. so remove that feature. we need to be cutting edge!
employee: what if they really dont like the song or they run out of space and need to delete some songs..?
apple exec: humm.. well i guess they have to get the 64 gb now dont they? muhahahhaha
(apple execs go back to bathing in evian water, eating shark fin soup and lighting their cuban cigars with 1000$ bills)
If you have itunes match on, when looking at an album (not a list of albums or songs) if there is a cloud icon at the top it isn't store locally. If you do not see that icon then it is stored locally and eligible to be deleted.
Except it doesn't work for me... I can have "show all music" on or off and I can't delete the songs locally stored...
Turn off "ITunes Match". "Show all music" only hides undownloaded songs
