Apple maps very disappointing

Bing Maps offers a very good maps service with Bird's Eye, a feature similar to Flyover. It's arguably better than Google Maps.

There is a way to revert back.

Not sure how long Apple will keep the window open to verify a downgrade to IOS 5.1.1 but I just downgraded from IOS 6 to 5.1.1 and it worked fine on my iPad 2, but hurry if you want to revert back cause once apple refuses to verify the old software update you'll be stuck with IOS6 and an inferior map interface. Once Apple sort out maps and adds street view I'll update or if Google Provides a Maps App with street view, if none of these happen I'll stick with 5.1.1 for now. Wish I'd never updated in the first place to be honest. Wouldn't say it was the most exciting update of new features anyway, especially the car crash which is Maps!

I live in Canada. I asked Maps to find my current location, which it did, but instead of telling me my exact address (which it probably couldn't figure out), it gave a range of addresses which was on the other side of the street with a postal code which is not mine. I looked this postal code up via reverse lookup at Canada Post's website, and it is not even from my street, but on another which runs into mine at 90 degrees across from my house!

In Tehran we have same problem. Map is incomplete and contain many wrong information. i knew source of this map is "Open Street Map" which came from an open source project.but there is no control and moderation on the map and result is collection of wrong data. I love apple and their big product, respect to competition but i think this was a big mistake to remove Google Map and hope apple reconsider to this wrong decition.

This is the worst product launch in recent memory from Apple.

The new apple maps in iOS 6 is horrific. Imaginary roads have been added, incorrectly named roads are now status quo and apparently my driveway is a 2 mile road which connects to a main road by me. I wish Steve Jobs was still alive. He's rolling over in his grave right about now. Praying for Apple to let Google Maps have their app in the appstore because this current one is inept.

Apple Maps is the biggest roll out failure since the Newton. What a travesty! Did anyone QC this?? It's scary to me that the new Steve Jobs- less Apple could release this. I hope it's not a sign of things to come. This would have NEVER been released if Steve Jobs was still around. Even with his detesting Google. Apple Maps(unless it's pulled and replaced by Google Maps) will be the biggest Android sales tool ever. People have become reliant on a quality Maps app-- not this trash. Wow-- may be a good time to short Apple.

Android has it's problems too. There are alternatives in the app store for people to use instead of this maps app, so download away.

I absolutely love apple maps, it is so much faster, simpler, and easier to read. With google maps I could never read the street names, and when I would zoom in it was so slow, plus then the street name was off the screen most of the time. Here in the SF area the map is so clear and easy to read, plus it is fast when I move it or zoom in. The directions work great, and changing to another location is easy with a list of all your last searches. I always had to pull over with the clunky google app. especialy if I wanted to search another location. Plus I checked google maps through safari and I thought that worked better than the google app too. Thanks Apple!

Im really confussed by all the negatives here. I dowloaded IO6 yesterday and drove to 4 different places today as I do service work. I have a 3GS and I have to say the new maps are awesome! Way earier to read and use, quicker much, much better that before. I live in Chicago, so maybe this is one of the cities Apple got right....I don't know. Im sorry to hear of all your problems but I can attest at least after one day that I feel like I have a new phone and I am very excited.

Here is the REALITY!! When you have less things on the map, yes it will make the street names easier to read, but everyone can agree that sometimes you need to know more than just the streets...Like buildings...bus stops...Or Halls on a college campus. Simpler design makes it load faster, because there is NO DETAIL!!

I really can't look past the ugly typeface of Apple maps, it's too fine and spaced out.
Look how skinny Apple maps roads are! Makes me feel like I'm in the desert with dusty sandy roads. I think the names of the streets look stupid just placed over the top of a white line.

You might say I have better things to worry about, but I am actually so angry.
Sure Apple can make their own maps blah blah... but can I please just have Google maps back?
