iOS 6 Music Not Really There

I have updated successfully to iOS 6 on an iPhone 4.

After restoring the backed up iPhone I happily found my music now on the phone. However, not all the music is actually on the phone. It skips between songs that it cannot find.

I am a member of iTunes match but the ability to download the 'missing' music is not present on any of the skipped tracks.

This is incredibly annoying. Has anybody else experienced the same and if so, have you found a solution?

How did I fix it finally?

  • I downloaded and installed iFunBoX (File Manage) http://i-funbox.com/ifunboxmac/
  • Connected my iPhone4S
  • Deleted following files in folder iPhone\Media\iTunes_Control:

MediaLibrary.sqllitedbMediaLibrary.sqllitedb-shmMediaLibrary.sqllitedb-wal

After that I started the MUSIC app on my iPhone, the iCloud symbol appeared and after some time all my music was back and iTunes Match as it intended in iOS6.

Deleting these files worked for me! :

MediaLibrary.sqllitedb

MediaLibrary.sqllitedb-shm

MediaLibrary.sqllitedb-wal

Thank you, Fabin.

After the process of deleting the files, etc. the iCloud bar appeard, filled in very quickly and ALL of my music was available on iCloud. My iPhone 4s then started downloading each song on the list automatically, one by one.

Here's a question, though:

Based on the storage info on my iPhone, all those songs are STILL inside my iPhone. So why is it downloading all of that music from iCloud from scratch? Does it not remember that most of the music on that list is already on the phone? Is this behaviour normal?

Thanks.

Farfeloo, it worked!! I turned off iTunes Match, connected the iPhone to iTunes on my laptop, and clicked sync. The sync automatically cancelled because iTunes stated it would have resulted in 20GB over-capacity (I guess iTunes thinking it would be doubling-up on my entire music library). But after the sync auto-cancelled, all my songs automatically appeared on my iPhone!

Thank you!
