iOS 6 Group Contacts

When selecting "Groups" in iOS 6 Contacts all groups appear with a "checkmark" on the right side.

Clicking on an individual "Contact" the checkmark dissapears but does not open, therefore not allowing

you access to the contacts within that "Group". Anyone else experiencing this problem ?

Thank you, Chris C.

ashee217, if you're syncing your contacts to iCloud, by any chance in iTunes, after selecting your iPhone under Devices, then selecting the 'Info' tab at the top, do you have 'Sync Contacts' selected? If you do, I've been told that the problems with double contacts and events in iCal was caused by this. If you're syncing your contacts and calendar using iCloud, syncing in iTunes should not be selected.

I do not believe that a single person on this thread has a good word to say about this new way of handling lists of contacts. It is a rare achievement for a program to be upgraded and not a single user can find a good word to say about it. This program has been bedevilled by stupid interface decisions (such as that red bookmark thing) but this must rank as one of the worst "upgrades" ever. The whole point of lists is to speed up search for a specific contact: calling a restaurant? look in the restaurant list. And so forth. Obviously. Who on earth would want to select multiple lists at the same time? What conceivable purpose does that serve? Lists have been rendered unusable.

I have even refrained from "upgrading" to iOS 6 for this reaon alone, i.e Apple's demolition of Contacts. I refuse to use such junk. I'll continue to refuse iOS 6 until Contacts become useful. But Savi Contacts might save us! Some people seem to have had crashes with it, so I'd like to hear some more positives before I "upgrade" to iOS 6 and install Savi Contacts.

Hi, I've been having this problem of contacts disappearing & it's about ticking me off! iCloud = iCrap because it didn't happen before that half-baked idea came out but maybe it's iOS 6. Did you find a cause? thanks

ps And what ENTIRELY bites is that no one from Apple says a freaking thing about it! This is neither a trivial problem nor user error. I couldn't even find instructions on how to do it - this is exactly why I hate Apple products: they think people are too dumb to use their stuff so you get limited capability to use your device. So DON'T upgrade.

When I buy something, it is top class but to keep it for a longtime.

Although I have been a pioneer, I waited a very longtime befor going for a smartphone: Ijus went to iPhone5 now, as a replacement for my fidel Nokia ...6233 acquired in late 2006!

And I am so much disappointed that this top of the notch tool is not even offering proper management of contact lists nor of the custom of phone ring tones per contact group... That is a very basic feature I would expect from ...a *phone*, isn't it? Or did I miss something?

Great.

So I just add myself here. I didn't know I am not alone. I posted my views here and I wondered why nobody responded. It's probably because I am using it in a different way, but still I have same issue because of how the groups are now treated.

In my case I have separate addressbooks which were automatically displayed as separate groups, which was great. Now I have to go through the check, uncheck, check, check procedure every time I change addressbook.

Simply answer to this new "feature":

NO.

Fail.
