Will Location based reminders work on ios 6 for the IPad 3 I keep getting a message that siri can't do location based reminders on this device any help please

Go into privacy, location services. Turn iAds on. Then I could set location based reminders.

System services, location based iAds ON.....sorry

It worked for scheduling one. Then I asked "remind me to check email when I get to work" and I got the response you got. Who knowssss

I tried your fix, and actually have all location-based items turned on in my preferences, and I still have the OP's error message.

I'm having the same issue. Disappointing, I was looking forward to having this on my iPad.

I opened a support case with Apple and they verified that this feature should be available and it's a known issue. They did not have a solution but did have me reboot and toggle airplane mode on and off. Neither worked. I will post back after they call me back tomorrow.

I also have the same problem with you guys. I think the location services in iOS 6 does not work properly. The "error" could not determine location also appear in maps and facebook.

On the iPhone (iOS 6) the reminders app shows up in location services (to allow you to turn on or off location services for each app that uses them) but it does not show in this area on the iPad. This seems to be the issue...

I Have two iPads, one at home and one in work. Same problem on both!

It doesn't work for me either which really stinks because that was the #1 feature I was looking for because Most of the time i'll be sitting at home or work using my ipad and then remember I need a reminder when I arrive at work/home then I have to go searching for my iPhone to do it. It would be awesome if you can do it on one device and it sets the location based reminder on both.

Have they called you back? I have opened a similar support case too today, they does not know what to do and they will speak with some engineer, but now that I have found this post...I think we just have to wait for a new minor release...anyway our devices (2 and the new if cellular) must be supported http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4970

I was having the same issue also... When I checked the map in reminders, it showed me in the ocean. When I added USA to the address, it then found the actual location I was looking for. Have not tried it out yet now, but will for sure be setting a reminder for "When I leave work" and see how it does.
