I'm having the same issue on iOS 6 and my iPad3.

Siri says she can't create location based reminders, neither can I do it manually.

I also don't use an exchange account, because people say that this seems to be a problem.

My reminders are synched into iCloud and they are synched to my iPhone 3GS (yes, I know that one can't deal with location based reminders).

All the synchs work perfectly, but no luck on location based reminders via siri or not on my iPad.

Wonder if it has to do with the iPhone 3GS after all, in a way that suggests that because it can't deal with them, it also means while I have one in my infrastructure, none of my devices can use it.

Can anyone confirm this, or deny?

Also the senior tech I am spoken too told me that I "should" receive an answer after max 48 hours but nobody called me back...at least they could call me to say "THIS IS A BUG, OUR MISTAKE" the silence does not help. After my iPad (I still use an Android phone) I did want to switch to iPhone, but after this, now that I have seen with my eyes how this company does not admit their own mistake...I think I will stay there. If you say "I'll call you back in 48 hours you MUST call me back, even if you have to say that nothing can be done and that we have to wait to a minor upgrade, period.

My support case was closed with no replay, I have called Apple right now and they told me that WE WERE WRONG, location reminde was not supposed to work on our iPad and they have updated the HT4970 article, period. Actually it should work because of the good and low power GPS chip installed in our new iPad (in fact, am I wrong or turn by turn [useless due to the map at least here] is available only on the new iPad and not on iPad 2?!), so maybe this feature will be available on the futur iOS update. Anyway horrible way to manage the situazione Apple, orrible, and...correct me if I am wrong but at the keynote when Apple presented iOS 6 the location reminder works on the iPad...

You are absolutely right there is no reason why this should not work with the New ipad 3G models.

I have a free sat nav app from the app store that knows exactly where I am with wifi turned off, I have not even installed a sim card yet so the glonass system (Russian version of GPS) works fine without GPS or wifi enabled. The reason I brought the 3G version was not for the 3G on its own but more for the GPS, as a GPS dongle for the Ipad is about £100 so I thought Id get it built in for the same price.
