After updating to ios 6 every time I try to access my wifi network my Iphone 4s goes to 3G and goes to an apple log-in screen that says "the page cannot be found". I have tried forgeting the network and re-entering the password and rebooting the phone but both didn't work. Any Ideas would be appriceated.

Had the same issue.. It seemed to happen when connecting to wifi after being connected over cellular data. It was working on wifi fine until I left the wifi area and connected to cellular data. I reset network settings and history, and then shut off cellular before it could connect and now it's working fine.
Go to settings -> Safari -> then clear history and also clear cookies and data. Worked for my iPhone 4, iPhone 4S and iPad 2.
Apple Support gave me this fix.
Guys there is very simple solution
Just go to wifi settings and chane proxy from manual to auto

The iOS WiFi issues appear to be caused by Apple’s “canary” web page being offline. Should be resolved soon, wethinks.
I saw this fix on another forum and it solved my wifi issue with the bump to the apple login screen
Had the same problem.
Trying to connect to my own WIFI network opened Safari and it would try to connect to a Apple.com webpage that doesn't exist.
FIX:
Settings > Wi-Fi > (Network...) > "Blue Circle Arrow"
Scroll down to the bottom of the screen and set:
HTTP Proxy to Auto
I can confirm sciancatto Solution:
1. Go to Settings > Wifi
2. Make sure "Ask to Join Networks" is ON
3. Close Settings
4. Open Mail App and check your Mail - or connect with any other Internet App to the Net
5. The Wifi-Dialogue will now pop up - use this to join your Wifi-Network

I wasn't the OP, but if I could I'd give the "select your network, then back out of settings immediately" a gold star or two. That seems to work. And it seems that once you've done that, the problem goes away when connecting to another network and/or back to the original one. Even if you turn WiFi OFF, then ON, it continues to work.
I think it's an iClound sync or similar issue: when it was failing, the WiFi strength indicator was active for a few seconds, the the spinning arrows of sync appeared in it's place, and the errant "page not found" message appeared. Hmmmmmmmm.

Many are finding success by enabling WMM in the QoS settings on their routers. I disabled and re-enabled this on my router and now my wifi works!
I was having this problem with my 4s. I turned off "do not disturb" in settings and am now back on my network. Since getting back to wifi, I turned "do not disturb" back on and I am still connected. hth
Go to Settings - Wi-Fi - ( once you enter correct password ) click the blue Arrow where next to the wi-fi user name and TURN ON ( Auto Join )

Just change your wirless network's HTTP Proxy setting to Auto on the device. It will fix it.

I was having this exact same problem. My phone updated fine at first, but when I went to update my iPad2 it suddenly stopped connecting to wifi. I tried for an hour to get it to reconnect, even reset my router. Then all of a sudden, both started working again... bizzare really
This worked for me. I have a 4s and an ipad 2
Try logging into your apple account on the phone or iPad.
Settings > iTunes & App Stores > Apple ID > View Apple ID
Login then click done
Go back to Settings > Wi-Fi and try to connect.
