"Skeumorfphic" appears to be a word you saw in an anti-Apple blog, which you're regurgitating without the slightest comprehension. The color scheme of the dialer (old or new) has absolutely nothing to do with skeumorphism. An actual example would be the wood "bookcase" background used in the iBooks app.

Well, it's a number awarded to me by thousands of other forum members who DO find me helpful - something you have no clue about, or capability or inclination to be. The fact that you and your drone trollbois don't is completely inconsequential. You are way, way beyond helping.

The only point you've made it that you're completely ignorant about the function of this forum and here only to troll. You made that perfectly well on your own.

its not just the maps that got ruined with ios 6, the new dial pad background is unsightly. it is quite distracting in low light settings and unpleasant to look at in any environment. It should be a user selectable setting as another user mentioned. As a user, I support that fellow user's tech observation and think this is a great forum to express such a view and share our thoughts on how to ask Apple to improve it.

William, thanks for the link... I voiced my concerns to Apple as you suggested.

I actually think it would be great for everyone that does not like the UI change to voice their opinion and "whine" as loudly as possible in every social forum that provides an opportunity to do so. Facebook, Twitter, Yelp, your blog, here and eventually the developers will hear and assign an engineer.

Those that don't like "whining" should just deal with it and stop whining themselves or find another forum to troll.

Although not a perfect solution, you can go to Settings/ General/ Accessibility/ and at the bottom set Triple Click to "Invert Colors". Now when you want it, triple clicking the Home button will give you a light on dark backround keypad. Triple click again will reset everything to the new normal. This inverted keypad is not quite as legible as the iOS5 version, but it is as close as you can now get to it.
